Profhilo is suitable for men and women of all skin types who want to improve skin elasticity and hydration. It’s particularly effective for those that are experiencing the first signs of ageing as you may require a more invasive treatment if skin laxity is more advanced.

Profhilo treatment is generally not considered painful, but individual experiences can vary. The treatment involves injecting a series of small amounts of hyaluronic acid into the skin, which can cause a mild stinging or pinching sensation.

However, most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure, as the injections are typically administered using a very fine needle.

As with dermal filler injections, we will numb the treatment area with local anaesthetic cream to ensure a pain-free procedure. The hyaluronic acid is delivered in ten micro-injection sites and is quickly dispersed in the top layer of the dermis, so there’s no need for massage or risk of lumps forming afterwards.

Two treatment sessions are recommended, carried out four weeks apart. Patients may wish to undergo additional sessions after six months to maintain results. Profhilo is a treatment which can be carried out individually, or in combination with other treatment types, such as facial fillers and laser treatments.

Profhilo generally lasts 6 months if 2 treatments are given one month apart. After the initial treatments, we recommend coming back to see us every 6-9 months.
